2023 Heisman Trophy Winner Predictions & NCAAF Odds | Pickswise
The 2023 college football season is finally on the horizon. The battle for a spot in the College Football Playoff begins on August 26 and won’t slow down until December. Last season’s National Championship game saw Georgia knock off TCU in lopsided fashion to claim its second straight national title.
One of the most popular futures markets in this sport is determining who will win the Heisman Trophy. Last season, this award went to USC quarterback Caleb Williams en route to an appearance in the PAC-12 Championship Game for the Trojans.
Looking at the odds, there are multiple contenders in this market, including a few intriguing longshot options. Let’s take a look at the best bets to target before the season starts.
You can bet on these Heisman Trophy picks with FanDuel Sportsbook, which has the best odds available and a great new customer offer where you can bet just $5 and get $100 in bonus bets! Click here to take advantage of this can’t-miss offer.

Caleb Williams (+500)
Jayden Daniels (+1000)
Cade Klubnik (+1400)
Jordan Travis (+1600)
Michael Penix Jr. (+1600)
Drake Maye (+1800)
J.J. McCarthy (+1800)
Bo Nix (+1800)
Sam Hartman (+2000)
Kyle McCord (+2200)
It’s not surprising to see most of the names at the top of this market. Caleb Williams just won this award last season, while big things are expected from Jayden Daniels and LSU this fall. Cade Klubnik has taken the reigns at quarterback for a Clemson team that is currently a slight favorite to win a much-improved ACC, while Jordan Travis and the Florida State Seminoles are nipping on his heels. Out west, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix should put up gaudy numbers as they each try to lead their respective teams to a PAC-12 championship. The Big Ten will be highly competitive this season, as well, with J.J. McCarthy and Kyle McCord leading the way for Michigan and Ohio State, respectively.
As to be expected, there isn’t a single non-quarterback in the top 10 of most Heisman Trophy odds boards. However, that doesn’t dissuade me from targeting a wide receiver that has terrific value further down the board.
Let’s get into our best bets for this market.

Heisman Trophy winner best bet: Marvin Harrison Jr. (+3000)
It’s no secret that the Heisman Trophy award is primarily dominated by quarterbacks. However, it’s also an award that primarily goes to the best player on a championship contender. In this case, it could be argued that Marvin Harrison Jr. is a better player than anyone on the board above him — including Caleb Williams. There’s a reasonable case to be made that Harrison Jr. is better than at least half of the wideouts in the NFL already, and he’s only going to get better. That’s what gives this number a bit of value.
As the top target for C.J. Stroud a season ago, Harrison Jr. hauled in 14 touchdowns in as many games played. Additionally, Harrison Jr. seemed to show up when the lights were brightest, hauling in 10 catches for 185 yards at Penn State, 120 yards and a touchdown against Michigan and a tremendous 106-yard, 2-touchdown effort against Georgia in a game he left due to a hit to the head. We all know that the Ohio State wide receiver room is loaded, but the junior wideout is clearly the top target for new quarterback Kyle McCord. I would anticipate more gaudy numbers from Harrison Jr. all season long, and if he’s able to produce at superstar levels in Ohio State’s biggest games of the season (Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame), then it’s hard to ignore his chances of getting an invite to New York.
