Zoom for Chromebook will now finally defaults to its Progressive Web App (PWA) to provide a better experience to the users.

Zoom PWA made its ChromeOS debut last year. The initial update was quite an upgrade for the platform as it changed the overall interface, which was very similar to the one on Windows/Mac.

It added different options such as reactions, backgrounds, and more. However, the users reported many issues in the update, including various bugs, blank screens, and much more.

After the update, Zoom PWA replaces the previous app. On their website, the video conferencing platform stated, "Zoom for Chrome PWA is separate from the ChromeOS app and is intended to replace it, as support for ChromeOS apps are being phased out across all operating systems by November 5, 2022. We strongly recommend admins begin migrating users from the ChromeOS app to the new Zoom for Chrome PWA to ensure a smooth transition."

From now onwards, the users can join a meeting via a link that defaults to the PWA on Chromebooks.
