The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees will meet for game two of their three-game set this Tuesday from Guaranteed Rate Field. Chicago took game one after pulling away in the eighth, 5-1.

Yankees Preview & Projected Starter

New York moved to 58-55 after falling to Chicago. The Yankees got an uncharacteristic outing from Gerrit Cole, and they’ll look to avoid a third straight loss on Tuesday. The New York offense is scoring 3.87 runs per game, while batting .230, with a .300 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.87 ERA, with a 1.25 WHIP.

Clarke Schmidt (7-6, 4.35 ERA, 103 Ks) will get the ball for New York in game one. The third-year righty held his own against Houston at home last time out, holding them to two runs thru five innings pitched. Schmidt has been New York’s version of Rich Hill this season, as he doesn’t strike out much, but he consistently eats five or more innings. Schmidt has allowed no more three runs in fourteen straight starts, and he’ll look to get the Yanks back into the win column Tuesday.

Yankees Player Trends & Props

Gleyber Torres brings a seven-game hit streak into this matchup,  and he’s leading NYY in hits (114), while posting splits of .270/18/48.

Aaron Judge doubled in the Game one loss and he’s leading the Yanks in batting (.277) and homers (20), with 43 RBI.

Giancarlo Stanton homered in three straight contests last week, and after being hitless in his last two Games, he could be due for some production soon. Stanton’s posting a line of .203/17/42.

White Sox Preview & Projected Starter

Chicago enters at 46-68 after defeating New York. The White Sox were able to pick up a third straight win for just the third time this season, and they’ll look to steal another for the Yanks here in Game two. The Chicago offense is 4.72 scoring runs per Game, while batting .235, with a .292 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.72 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP.

Touki Toussaint (0-2, 3.45 ERA, 117 Ks) will open the Game for Chicago. The fifth-year pitcher managed to toss a season-high nine strikeouts last time out in Arlington, but after allowing four runs over 5.1 innings, he took his fourth loss of the season. Toussaint surpassed the 6k-mark for the first time this season, which was a good sign props wise, and he’ll likely be apart of the Sox rotation for the remainder of the season with the departures of Lance Lynn and Lucas Giolito. Toussaint has allowed two runs or less thru four starts in the Southside this season, and he’ll attempt to keep that going against the Yanks here.

White Sox Player Trends & Props

Luis Robert has produced a run in three straight Games, and he leads Chicago in hits (114), home runs (30), and RBI (64).

Andrew Vaughn homered in the game one win, and he’s totaled fifteen home runs and 61 RBI for the season.

Eloy Jiménez has recorded a hit in seven of the last ten Games,  and he’s totaled an identical thirteen homers and 48 RBI, while leading the Sox in batting (.279).

Corey’s Free Pick

Chicago’s recent form of life has a chance to strike again with New York struggling at the plate. The White Sox’ bats are simply playing better than the Yanks right now, and despite them being out of contention, they’ve got enough to steal another game in the Southside. Neither pitcher presents a shut down threat, so the Over will be in play, but I like spotting Chicago the runs here for safety.
