Pickswise MLB experts go 2-0 on best bets
The Pickswise MLB team cashed both of its 3-star best bets on Sunday. Toronto was an easy money line winner over the Cubs with an 11-4 romp, while the Dodgers covered their -1.5 run line by blasting Colorado 8-3.
Saints beat Chiefs in preseason
Week 1 of the NFL preseason wrapped up with 1 game on Sunday. New Orleans treated the home crowd to a 26-24 victory over Kansas City, covering a -1 spread.
Sinner is a winner at +1000 odds
The Pickswise experts found plenty of success on the country club sports (what’s new?!?!) this past week. Jannik Sinner was a big tennis winner for us at +1000, as he won the ATP Masters 1000 title in Toronto. On the golf course, Lucas Glover went back-to-back by winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship and we had him at +550 to place in the top 5

Best Bet of the Day
MLB: Houston Astros vs Miami Marlins Over 7.5 (-120)
6:40 pm ET
Houston’s Framber Valdez had a great start to the season but struggled in the month of July, posting a 7.29 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 4 starts. He has been all over the place in August, from a no-hitter to a 6-run outing. The southpaw doesn’t exactly sit within the best crowd regarding his percentiles, as he struggles with the categories of average exit velocity (3rd percentile), hard-hit percentage (8th percentile) and xBA (41st percentile). He has also been roughed up in road appearances this season, putting together a 4.55 ERA in away games compared to his home mark of 2.44. Braxton Garrett of the Marlins sits near the lower end of all percentile rankings besides BB% (97th percentile) and K% (67th percentile). Garrett has been poor in home games, as his home ERA (5.40) is more than double his road ERA (2.68). Check out our full Astros vs Marlins predictions.

Stat of the Day

Quote of the Day
“If you would have told me this three months ago, I’d tell you you’re crazy. But at the same time, if you asked me legitimately did I think I was capable, I’d say yes, even then. It’s just one of those sad ways athletes are wired. We always believe in ourselves no matter how bad it is.”
— Glover, whose victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship was his second on the PGA Tour in as many weeks. He won the previous week at the Wyndham Championship.
