Ryan Garcia grew up in Victorville, California and started Boxing at the tender age of seven, becoming a 15-time national amateur champion with an amateur record of 215–15. Turning pro at 17, Garcia went 23 fights without loss, winning 19 of them by knockout.

In the middle of this brilliant career, Garcia took fifteen months out of the ring to address his mental Health issues. Surprisingly open about what he was going through, Garcia amassed a staggeringly huge following on social media, all of whom see “King Ry” as the future of Boxing.

The return of the man who stands at 5 feet, 8.5 inches (1.74m) and weighing around 140 lbs (63.5kg) seemed to be going to plan until he was dismantled completely by Gervonta Davis. Some of his demons came back to bite as he began to make strange remarks in the media accusing his own promoters of plotting against him. In his knockout victory over Oscar Duarte showed that his skill in the ring was a sharp as ever, but a string of bizarre social media posts where he supported a wild array of conspiracy theories, claiming that he has evidence of the existence of aliens, suggesting that he will bite Haney’s ears, and alleging that he has witnessed human trafficking and suffered sexual abuse as a child made the public question his current state of mind.

This bout with Haney will go 12 rounds as a world title fight, with most experts pitting Garcia as the underdog in the contest. His Game-changing left hook can set the world on its ear, however and at 24-1 with 20 knockouts, it is entirely possible that Garcia could prove everyone wrong.
