The Cowboys need to rebuild their offensive line this season after losing center Tyler Biadsz and left tackle Tyron Smith in free agency. In the 2024 NFL Draft, they picked left tackle Tyler Guyton in the first round and center Cooper Beebe in the third. There’s been a lot of buzz around Guyton, but Beebe shouldn’t be overlooked either.

Who is Cooper Beebe?

Beebe played under center at Kansas State. He played only two Games in his true freshman season and eight during his redshirt freshman season. In 2021, he started all 13 Games and was named first team All-Big 12 Conference. In 2023, he was named as one of three finalists for the Outland Trophy, awarded to the nations best offensive lineman/interior defensive lineman. In his five years in college, he only allowed five sacks, 25 hurries, and 39 pressures in 1,488 pass-blocking snaps.

Beebe is a big guy, at 6′3″ and 322 pounds, but he’s athletic and nimble in spite of his size. In his Combine overview, it’s written that Beebe is a “bulldozer in cleats”, which is pretty accurate considering he is able to get past defenders of any size. This would match well with the strength of left guard Tyler Smith and right guard Zack Martin on the o-line. Even if Beebe ends up winning only the backup role, he has potential to be a solid long-term option for the ' Boys.
