Who are the Super Bowl 2024 commentators? Pregame, halftime, booth and field announcers

Whether it’s Sean McDonough’s voice cracking as he narrates Derrick Johnson’s touchdown for the Chiefs or Joe Buck’s famous “Diggs! Sideline! Touchdown! Unbelievable! Vikings win it!”, there is always a piece of commentary that accompanies the very best moments in sport.

Super Bowl Week has begun and we are well on the way to showdown Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Allegiant Stadium is Las Vegas is undergoing the final preparations ahead of the event and with that, the commentators and announcers are also massaging their voices to be able to walk the TV viewers through the action. With such an enticing tie coming up, we thought we’d take a look at who is holding the microphone this year round.

Pregame Host, Halftime and Booth Commentators

According to CBS, The NFL Today will provide all of the pregame, halftime and postgame chatter, with James Brown set to host the Super Bowl pregame show for a record 11th time. He will be joined by a team of analysts comprised of Phil Simms, Boomer Esiason, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher and JJ Watt, as well as NFL insider Jonathan Jones.

Appearances from Matt Ryan, Ian Eagle, Charles Davis and Jason McCourty will also be made during the show, which starts at 11:30am ET that day.

Super Bowl Field Announcers

As for the announcers of the game itself, the voices of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter) are set to call their third Super Bowl as a trio.

It will be Nantz’s seventh Super Bowl in the CBS booth and Romo’s third; curiously it will be Romo’s first that doesn’t end in Tom Brady winning. Wolfson will serve alongside Evan Washburn as CBS’ sideline reporters for Super Bowl 58, with one being signed a team each. Reporter Jay Feely and rules analyst Gene Steratore will also be present for any further analysis of the game.

CBS to air alternative telecast

Univision will simulcast this year’s Super Bowl broadcast in Spanish but perhaps more curiously, Nickelodeon will broadcast a child-friendly Super Bowl, using the theme of Spongebob Squarepants.

As if the world wasn’t already Black Mirror enough, SpongeBob (Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (Bill Fagerbakke) will be in the broadcast booth, with Sandy Cheeks (Carolyn Lawrence), Larry the Lobster (Mr. Lawrence), Dora The Explorer (Diana Zermeño), and Boots (Asher Colton Spence) providing further cutting-edge insight and unrivalled technical analysis. I had Dora down as more of an ice hockey fan, but there you go.
