What to Pack For...Bermuda
The allure of Bermuda is undeniable—pearlescent pink-sand beaches, coral reefs for snorkeling, and a culture that uniquely fuses British elegance with tropical island vibes. Not to mention, the 21-square-mile archipelago is less than two hours from most airports on the East Coast, making it an idyllic (and easily accessible) weekend getaway.
And while the island chain has been a tourist draw since the early 20th century, it is perhaps buzzier now than ever before. A new St. Regis is set to open by 2021, and Ritz-Carlton is developing a Ritz Carlton-Reserve—complete with a hotel and residences—set to launch the same year. Last summer, Rosewood Bermuda completed a $25 million renovation, and in 2017, The Loren at Pink Beach, a luxury boutique property, became Bermuda’s first new hotel build in more than four decades.
When it comes to packing for a trip here, you'll want to focus on three key words: beachy, preppy, polished. Compared to other neighboring islands where “barefoot luxury” reigns supreme, in Bermuda, you’d be more likely to find penny loafer-luxury. Walk around town or spend time at a resort, and you’ll notice that the dress code is decidedly refined—and that’s what people love about it.
Below, a few packing suggestions for your next trip.
