What is the Jordi Alba injury from Inter Miami’s trip to Sporting Kansas City?
Inter Miami may have added another name to their lengthy injury list as Jordi Alba was substituted in the MLS clash against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.
The Herons were leading 3-2 when Alba went down on the edge of the Sporting penalty box. No one was near him at the time and he didn’t seem to be struggling with any other issue during the Game. He was able to get up and limp from the field but it looked like he may have picked up a hamstring injury.
The veteran Spaniard has played a lot of minutes already this season and maintains his all-action playing style. It looks as if he may have pushed his body too hard on this occasion. He received treatment on the field but Sergio Busquets could be seen motioning towards the bench, indicating that his long-time teaMMAte would need to be substituted.
Even without Jordi Alba on the field for the final minutes the Herons were able to see out a hard-fought victory in front of a packed Arrowhead Stadium. Goals from Diego Gomez, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez secured the win for Miami, who had been on a poor run of form in recent weeks. Head coach Tata Martino will hope that Saturday’s victory will prove to be a turning point for his team but the prospect of losing Alba for a sustained period makes Miami weaker going forward.
