What injury does Raphinha have? Will he play in the Super Cup final against Real Madrid?
FC Barcelona winger Raphinha left the field injured in their win over Osasuna in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup. The player was replaced by Lamine Yamal in the first half after going down holding his leg.
The winger had made Xavi’s starting XI for the game but was forced off before the break. Barcelona, despite the player’s absence, went on to win the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, which both came in the second half as their opponents tired.
After initially being treated on the pitch, it became clear that the former Leeds man could not continue, and walked off the pitch to an applause from the crowd.
What injury does Raphinha have?
Immediately following the conclusion of the Game, Barcelona manager Xavi confirmed that the player had suffered a “hamstring” injury.
When will he be back?
Tests will need to be carried out on the player, but it now looks unlikely that he will be able to be fit for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup final, to be played on Sunday 14 January, against Real Madrid. Barcelona will be looking for revenge after losing 1-2 to Los Blancos in LaLiga, when Jude Bellingham scored a brace to give his side the three points in the clash.
Barcelona play Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday, January 14.
