Watch: Callum McGregor’s Superb Opener Against Kilmarnock
Celtic captain Callum McGregor has given the Hoops the lead in first-half stoppage time.
A ball over the Kilmarnock defence from McGregor to Adam Idah failed to reach the Irishman, with Robby McCrorie misjudging the ball, leading to the opening goal for the Hoops in a half in which they were largely frustrated by Kilmarnock.
It appeared to have been a cross attempt from McGregor, but he will have no complaints about yet another away goal this season, from outside the box to make him Scottish Premiership top scorer.
💪 “This has been awkward for Celtic, yet they have the lead on the stroke of half-time!”

Celtic haven’t been at their scintillating best, like against RB Leipzig midweek at Celtic Park, however, they have taken the lead and will look to build on this in the second half.
McGregor’s bravery and vision to play the pass has paid off, with McCrorie misjudging how far the ball would Travel towards goal.
The Scottish goalkeeper has been made to look naive by McGregor, and Idah will be grateful that the ball was still able to find the net despite the Irish striker failing to touch it into the goal.
