The San Diego Padres and the Washington Nationals meet Wednesday in MLB action from Nationals Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Washington Nationals vs San Diego Padres Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The San Diego Padres will send out Matt Waldron for the start here and Waldron is 5-9 with a 3.59 ERA and 99 strikeouts this season. In his career, Waldron is 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 10 strikeouts against Washington. The Nationals will send out Mitchell Parker for the start here and Parker is 5-5 with a 3.90 ERA and 76 strikeouts this season. This will be Parker’s first career start against San Diego.

San Diego Padres Recap

The San Diego Padres will try to win the series after taking a 4-0 win in Tuesday’s series opener. The win put the Padres on track for back-to-back series wins after kicking off the second half of the season with their series win over Cleveland this past weekend.

Jurickson Profar has 106 hits along with a .299 batting average and 16 doubles with 15 homers and 60 RBIs. Jake Cronenworth has 58 RBIs while Fernando Tatis Jr. has belted a team-high 14 home runs, 86 hits, 71 strikeouts and 8 stolen bases as well this season, but is out of the lineup because of injury. Manny Machado has 13 home runs and 52 RBIs but also has 83 strikeouts while Ha-Seong Kim has 76 hits with 3 triples, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs and a team-high 19 stolen bases.

Washington Nationals Recap

The Washington Nationals will look to bounce back after starting the series on the wrong foot with their defeat in Tuesday’s opener. The loss wasn’t ideal for a Nationals team looking for a third straight series win after bookending the all-star break with series wins over Cincinnati and Milwaukee.

Washington Nationals vs San Diego Padres Prediction

I’m on the Nationals here. I think the Padres have some solid numbers as of late against left-handed pitching, but in July, they haven’t faced a ton of lefties and I think those numbers are a bit iNFLated. This is still a Padres lineup that’s been struggling and I don’t know if I trust consistent offense from this squad. On the other side, the Nationals have been solid against right-handed pitching and they’re not striking out a whole lot, which is what Matt Waldron needs to succeed. I think the Nationals get some measure of revenge here, so give me the Nats.
