To Do in RI: Sakonnet Vineyard celebrates National Wine & Cheese Day

Sakonnet Vineyard celebrates National Wine & Cheese Day on Thursday, July 25th  from 11am to 7pm at this iconic Rhode Island landmark. New England’s oldest vineyard has recently relaunched its property. 

At this event, guests can enjoy a guided wine and cheese tasting featuring four Sakonnet Vineyard wines (3 oz. each) paired with four cheeses from Sweet & Salty Farm in Little Compton. The cost is $45 per person. The tasting room and kitchen will also be open.

Meet Sakonnet Vineyard winemaker James Davids, and experience the wine and cheese tasting.

Sakonnet Vineyard is located at 162 W. Main Road in Little Compton, RI. James Davids, winemaker and Marissa Stashenko, operations manager are looking forward to meeting their guests.

Sakonnet Vineyard spans 169 acres in Little Compton, Rhode Island, with more than 30 acres dedicated to producing award-winning wines. Planted in 1975, Sakonnet is the oldest vineyard in the region and played a significant role in the developing wine industry. About Sweet & Salty Farm:

Sweet & Salty Farm is a small dairy farm situated on the ocean’s edge in Little Compton, Rhode Island.  Husband and wife team Andrew Morley and Laura Haverland milk a small herd of grass-fed Jersey cows  and process all of their own milk into yogurt and cheese, without chemicals, pesticides, hormones, GMOs, or antibiotics, at the on-farm creamery.  Sweet & Salty cheese is sold at farmer’s markets and yogurt is for sale at a variety of local retailers.  For more information, visit www.sweetandsaltyfarm.com/.
