Tips for seamless video calls on Google Meet
One of the most important tools for remote work is video-calling platforms that allow colleagues from all parts of the world to come together and work towards achieving their goals.
One such platform is Google Meet which offers various features to stay connected. Here are some of the ways you can utilize Google Meet for seamless video calls.
1. Noise cancellation
It is not easy to attend meetings when the whole family is at home. The extra noise can be disturbing or at times embarrassing too. To reduce background noise during a call, Google Meet has a noise cancellation feature. To opt for it, go to Settings>Audio>Noise cancellation.
2. Live captions
To make things easier for someone who cannot hear the speaker's voice, Google Meet gives the option of live captions in the call. To start the captions, join a meeting and click Turn on captions or Turn off captions buttons at the bottom of the screen.
3. Q&A Feature
To better manage the flow of questions and answers in a large meeting, session, or webinar, you can use the Q&A Feature. To use this feature, click Host Controls at the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on Meeting Activities and turn on Allow Questions in Q&A.
4. Changing Backgrounds
To give a fun touch to your meetings or to actually hide what is happening in your background, Google Meet offers the option of changing backgrounds. To do so, on the bottom right of your self-view, click Apply visual effects. You can choose to completely Blur your background, Slightly blur your background or find a pre-uploaded background by clicking the background button.
