Juventus and USMNT forward Timothy Weah has rejected a potential loan move to Everton, according to Ed Aarons, a journalist at The Guardian.

The 23-year-old New Yorker currently plays for Juventus in Italy’s Serie A, but has not scored this season and despite making 17 appearances, has found full Games hard to come by under manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik are both ahead of the versatile American in the pecking order for the striking role, with Federico Chiesa and Filip Kostic occupying the wings most weeks, meaning Weah has had to feed off scraps for the majority of the season, leading to his shocking goal record during the current campaign.

Weah rejects playing time over sitting on the bench

Everton, meanwhile, dangle at 17th in the Premier League standings and are just a single point above the relegation zone. They have scored 24 goals this season after 21 Games, the 4th-lowest tally in the division and their top scorer is currently Abdoulaye Doucouré, who sits on 6 goals. Their top-scoring striker is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with 4 in 23 Games in all comPetitions.

Juventus sit second in Serie A and are just one point off league leaders Inter, who have 54 points after 21 Games. ‘The Old Lady’ have lost just one Game all season and that is down in a large part to their strong defensive record, as they have only conceded 13 goals so far in the present campaign.

The USMNT forward made the transfer to Juve over the summer for €11m plus bonuses from Lille. Weah saw his minutes limited after a thigh injury forced him to spend time in the physio room; since then, finding minutes under Allegri has been hard to come by. Despite this sticky situation, it seems the player prefers to sit on the bench in Turin instead of playing on the pitch on Merseyside...
