Timberwolves vs Bulls Prediction, Picks, and Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game
The Chicago Bulls dropped a third straight Game on Wednesday after getting blown out by the Dallas Mavericks. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves trounced the Charlotte Hornets on Monday and have won two of three.
Chicago has dominated the head-to-head matchup with Minnesota in recent seasons, but my Timberwolves vs. Bulls predictions expect the Wolves to flip the script on the road.
Read my NBA picks for Thursday, November 7 to see why you should take Minnesota and the points at the United Center with tip set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
Timberwolves vs Bulls prediction
My best bet
Timberwolves -8 (-110 at bet365)
My analysis
It’s not always easy taking the points with a heavy road favorite, especially when that road favorite has had so much trouble with a particular opponent. While the Chicago Bulls swept the 2023-24 regular-season series against the Minnesota Timberwolves and have covered in seven of the last 10 matchups, I’m looking at the data in front of me for this season, and the Wolves should cover here.
Chicago started the season 3-2, but it’s been downhill from there. The Bulls have dropped three straight, losing each by at least eight points. The most recent loss came on Wednesday in a 20-point thumping at Dallas. The Bulls now have to Travel home for the second leg of a back-to-back set against another quality opponent.
Zach LaVine has missed two straight and is questionable tonight. Lonzo Ball is out again, Josh Giddey is dealing with an illness, and Patrick Williams is dealing with a shoulder injury. Both Giddey and Williams played through their injuries on Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be surprising if one or both were sidelined.
Minnesota has a clean injury report, and this is simply a talent mismatch. Minnesota hasn’t played since Monday, so Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, & Co. should be well-rested ahead of this Windy City showdown.
Timberwolves vs Bulls same-game parlay
Timberwolves -8
Naz Reid Over 19.5 pts+reb+ast
Coby White Under 17.5 points
Naz Reid, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year is doing his best to defend his title. He enjoyed the best statistical season of his career in 2023-24, but he’s on pace to set new career highs. Reid is averaging 15.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 dimes across 25 minutes per game.
He’s hit the Over on this modest prop in four of seven games. He hit the Over once in two matchups with the Bulls last season and averaged 18.5 PRA.
The Bulls allow the most points in the paint, the fifth-most rebounds, and the seventh-most points overall, setting Reid up beautifully to cash this prop.
With key members of Chicago’s starting lineup potentially out tonight, Coby White could be the focal point of the offense. That doesn’t mean I’m taking the Over, however, as Minnesota’s defense can key in on White if he’s the primary scorer.
White is averaging 19 points and 3.5 triples per game this season. His nine 3-point attempts are a career-high and account for nearly 60% of his shot selection. He’s scored 18 or more points in five games and averaged 5.4 made threes in those contests.
The Wolves allow the fewest made 3-pointers per game and the third-lowest 3-point percentage. Over half of White’s points come from distance, and the Wolves sport one of the best perimeter defenses in the Association.
