The Detroit Tigers will Travel to Denver to begin an interleague series with the Colorado Rockies this Friday from Coors Field.
Tigers Betting Preview
Detroit moved to 35-45 after splitting four Games with Texas.. The Tigers refuse to go away, and they’re sticking around in a cluttered AL Central, and they’ll look to steal a few at Coors this weekend. The Detroit offense is scoring 2.72 runs per Game, while batting .224, with a .300 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.51 ERA, with a 1.26 WHIP. Javier Baez had multiple hits in the series finale win over Texas, and he produced 37 RBI on the season. Spencer Torkelson went off with two homers in the Game four victory, and he now leads Detroit in home runs (11) and RBI (39).
Michael Lorenzen (2-5, 3.97 ERA, 35 Ks) will get the call for Detroit. The ninth-year righty pitched a solid outing in divisional action against Minnesota last weekend, holding them to two runs in five innings pitched. Lorenzen has cleaned up a messy start to the month with a pair of good starts, and he’ll look to close here on a strong note.

Rockies Betting Preview
Colorado moved to 32-51 after dropping two of three to the Dodgers. The Rockies couldn’t complete their week against Los Angeles on a strong note, and they’ll look to pick up a few wins in interleague play this weekend. The Colorado offense is scoring 4.5 runs per Game, while batting .256, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.70 ERA, with a 1.43 WHIP. Elias Diaz plated three runs in the series finale against LAD, and he’s leading Colorado in RBI (45), while batting .287. Randal Grichuk has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten Games, and he leads the Rockies in batting at .294. Ryan McMahon brings a four-Game hit streak into this series, and he leads the team in home runs (12), with 41 RBI.
Austin Gomber (4-4, 6.99 ERA, 38 Ks) will get the call for Colorado. The fifth-year lefty pitched well enough to slow the streaking Angels down last weekend, holding them to two runs over five innings of work. Gomber snapped a three-start skid with the victory, but he’s still been one of the most vulnerable pitchers in the league this season, and he’s allowed five runs or more in three of his last five starts at Coors.
Detroit vs Colorado Trends
Detroit is 42-38 against the spread this season, with a 44-34-4 O/U record. Colorado is 38-45 ATS this year, with a 36-47 over/under record.
Corey's Free Pick
Detroit comes into this contest with an advantage on the mound, but does that even matter at Coors? The Tigers pedestrian approach at the plate may land them in trouble here, as the Rockies will finally come into a manageable series at home after a treacherous schedule this month, and I think they capitalize on Game one. Offense flows at Coors Field, so let’s back the Rockies in hopes of them coming out strong at home.
