“This is what greatness is” – Liverpool fans want new Mo Salah contract “immediately”
Mohamed Salah‘s ridiculous end product was on show against Bologna, and fans lauded his brilliance after Liverpool won 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Champions League Football returned to Anfield, and the Reds made it two wins out of two in the comPetition this season.
Alexis Mac Allister gave Arne Slot‘s side an early lead, but the performance level dropped off and Bologna created chances.
Salah then bent a stunning effort into the top corner of the Kop net, having already registered an assist, sealing an important three points for the Reds.
These Liverpool fans reacted to the magic of Salah on social media and in This Is Anfield’s comments section.
Salah has more goals than any other Liverpool player this season. Salah has more assists than any other Liverpool player this season. Salah wants to stay at the club. Salah needs a new contract immediately. I will begin ritual sacrifice outside of the AXA otherwise.

Mohamed Salah. Champions League nights. At Anfield. His home. His competition. WORLD CLASS.

Inevitable. Salah is inevitable.

11 G/As in 9 games and that’s normal for him.
Salah is a joke of a player ?

New deal. Now.

Salah has misplaced like half a dozen passes that could have led to goals but he still walks away from this Game with a goal and assist. Both bangers. I guess this is what greatness is.

Heavy going at times. But sometimes all you need is a Mo moment. Think the ref must have won a competition or something

“Salah MOTM? Nobody else did much, he has the goal and assist.”
– Harley Lungs in This Is Anfield’s comments
A vintage Salah finish. That takes you back
— Hari Sethi (@Hari_Sethi) October 2, 2024
“It’s been a while since we saw that kind of finish by Salah… he used to score that type of goal frequently but ever since he dropped a yard of pace, that style of finish has generally alluded him.”
– Lamba Pi in the comments.
Mohamed Salah goal from 3 angles. Gets better every replay. ??? pic.twitter.com/2nqEjqJ9ag

“Six goals, five assists this season so far….not bad for a 32 year old.”
– William in This Is Anfield’s comments
We would be absolutely lost without Mo Salah.
6 goals and 5 assists now in 9 games. Ridiculous.
He will be impossible to replace.
Generational ?

While Salah certainly had competition for the Man of the Match award, including from all three of Slot’s midfielders, the No. 11 made the telling impact again.
As has been emphasised time and time again this season, that there seems to have been no progress when it comes to a new deal for the Egyptian – even despite his age – is unbelievable.
Salah continues to prove that he remains one of the best players in the world – and it was no different against Bologna.
