President Zelensky lauded the Iron Dome as the most effective anti-missile system now available on the market, and he questioned the motivations behind Israel’s decision not to provide Ukraine with this protective weaponry.

On the evening of March 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky used his online address to the Israeli Parliament to “remind” Tel Aviv that it has not done enough to support Kiev since Russia initiated a Military operation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Israeli parliament that Israel’s Iron Dome air defence system is the best in the world and that it can defend the Ukrainian people.

“Why can’t we take your weapons? Why aren’t you able to apply severe sanctions against Russia? You can undoubtedly assist our people and save lives. Ukrainians’ lives, especially Ukrainian Jews’ lives, “The Israeli parliament was told by Zelensky.

Mr. Zelensky emphasised the importance of “Ukraine made the decision 80 years ago to save the Jews. It is now up to Israel to make its own decision.”

Despite Zelensky’s remarks, Israel would continue to mediate and will not give arms to Ukraine, said our correspondent citing sources close to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

Israel will continue to assist Ukraine, according to Foreign Minister Lapid, and “never turn away from the people who are living in a nightmare of war.”

President Zelensky is one of the world’s only three Jewish heads of state. In the meantime, Israel has a sizable Ukrainian community as well as a Russian diaspora.
