Texas Children’s Houston Open: How to watch on TV, stream online | PGA Tour

The Houston Open is a Golf tournament held in Houston since 1946. It moved to various venues before settling at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble from 2003 to 2019. The event was sponsored by Shell Oil Company from 1992 to 2017, and the Astros Foundation took over afterward. The event was traditionally played mid-spring and moved to the week before the Masters Tournament from 2007 to 2018. The 2021 event was held for the first time at the renovated Memorial Park Golf Course.

Memorial Park Golf Course is known as one of the top municipal Golf courses in the nation. More than 60,000 Golf enthusiasts visit the course each year. The Golf course was designed by world-renowned Golf course architect Tom Doak, with the help of four-time major winner Brooks Koepka as the PGA TOUR player consultant and Don Mahaffey, president of Greenscape Methods, overseeing construction. The goal was to create a Golf course that professionals and the general public could play.

One of the most fascinating features of the course is its state-of-the-art stormwater irrigation system. This system was designed to capture and retain 80 million gallons of stormwater for irrigation purposes. As a result, the Golf course’s irrigation needs no longer rely on the city’s potable water system.

The 2024 event will return to a spring date in March and be sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital.
