Tech YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss unveils the world’s largest iPhone to set a new record
YouTuber Arun Maini, known as Mrwhosetheboss, has built the largest smartphone replica: a giant iPhone over two meters tall.
This scaled-up iPhone 15 Pro Max was created with assistance from Matthew Perks, aka DIYPerks.
Growing up, I would disappear into the library for hours to read the latest Guinness World Records books, so to achieve an award myself feels absolutely surreal. - Mrwhosetheboss
The phone must be fully functional, capable of scrolling, sending texts and emails, and running all standard apps. It also needs a working camera, flashlight, and charging port.
“It’s a full circle moment for us. I’m incredibly proud of our team and Matt for achieving something unprecedented,” he said.
Arun started posting on YouTube in 2011 and has gained a substantial following with his tech reviews.
He made this giant iPhone to celebrate surpassing Apple in YouTube subscribers, a milestone he’s recently pursued.
Matthew, true to his username, specializes in creating homemade gadgets, often oversized or miniature versions of commercial devices.
Apple unveils iPhone 16 series
Apple's recent product launch introduced a range of new devices and updates. The company unveiled the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max, all designed to incorporate AI features.
The iPhone 16 models feature faster A18 chips and "Action" buttons, while the Pro versions boast enhanced processors, larger screens, and a new ultrawide camera. Apple promises better battery life across all models. In addition, the latest Apple Watches now offer sleep apnea detection, generating reports for medical review, and feature slimmer designs with brighter screens.
For AirPods, Apple introduced new models, including a $129 entry-level version and a $179 version with noise cancellation. AirPods Pro received a software update that could turn them into over-the-counter hearing aids pending FDA approval, with all AirPods now charging via USB-C.
The iPhone 16 is priced at $899 for the 128GB variant, which is approximately Rs2,50,762 in Pakistan.
Adding the taxes, the price is expected to go up to Rs379,999.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Plus, with 128GB storage, is available for $999, translating to around Rs2,78,655 in the local market.
However, it’s important to note that additional costs, including PTA approval and other taxes, will significantly increase the final price in the local market.
