Take Kubo: “Mbappé speaks Spanish very well”
In his first appearance in the press room at Zubieta this season, Takefusa Kubo spoke about the likely arrival to LaLiga of Kylian Mbappé, with whom he will meet in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. “When I spoke to him I realised that he speaks Spanish very well, that he’s improved. I think he’s getting ready [for Spain],” said the Real Sociedad winger, smiling.
It was his first public appearance after his unexpected and surprising renewal a week ago with the Basque club until 2029. He was happy, of course. “When there is a renewal it means that both parties are happy and in my case, it is the same. I’m very happy here and at the moment I think the club is happy with me too”. However, he did not want to talk about his termination clause, which has remained at €60 million after the contract extension. “A contract is confidential. What I can tell you is that both parties are happy... I am happy and my family is very happy.”
Afterwards, when asked why the Real Sociedad fans love him so much, he told the media that gathered at Zubieta: “It’s true that people love me a lot, especially here. I don’t know why, maybe because I’m a good person. You’ll have to ask them.”
