The 58th Super Bowl sees Kansas City looking to retain their crown following last year’s win over Philadelphia as they face a San Francisco 49ers side looking to add to their five Super Bowl titles.

With this year’s Super Bowl set to be hosted at the 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium, the fourth-smallest venue in NFL, this means that tickets are at a real premium this year, even more than usual.

Ticket distribution via teams

Each participating team receive approximately 17% of overall tickets and these are distributed to fans via ballots. The NFL retain roughly 25% of tickets for in-house, sponsorship commitments with the home team (Las Vegas Raiders) set to be given 5% of all tickets. The remaining allocation is shared out among the rest of the NFL teams with the league never revealing the face value of the tickets for the biggest Game of the season.

Super Bowl via resell platforms

So, what to do if you’ve missed out on a ticket via the traditional avenues and you are still desperate to see the action in Vegas on Sunday night.

Assuming one is deep pocketed, then resorting to resale platforms is the inevitable alternative. At the time of writing (8 February), Seat Geek’s cheapest ticket offers a Section 324 (Row 8) Super Bowl ticket for just under $6,000.
