The New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals meet Monday in MLB action from Busch Stadium. Here’s a St. Louis Cardinals vs NY Mets Prediction. This will be a one-off Game before the teams move on to other series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Mets took on the Los Angeles Angels. New York split the first two Games of that series 5-1 (win) and 5-4 (loss). In the rubber match Sunday, the Mets took a tight 3-2 loss. Jose Quintana put up 5.0 innings and three earned runs in the starter role.

As starter for Monday’s matchup the Mets will send out Sean Manaea. This year Manaea is 7-4 with a 3.50 ERA in 21 starts. In his career Manaea is 72-60 with a 4.04 ERA in 217 Games (187 starts).

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they played the rival Chicago Cubs in their weekend series. St. Louis dropped the first pair before a 5-4 win Saturday. In the finale the Cards ended up losing the series with a 6-2 defeat. Starter Miles Mikolas finished with 4.0 innings and four earned runs.

St. Louis Cardinals vs NY Mets Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward the Mets. Manaea is coming off a pretty good effort in a win over the Twins. He gave up two hits, one walk and zero earned over 7.0 innings in that one. As for Pallante, he’s had his ups and downs lately with eight earned runs over his last 17.1 innings for an 0-2 record.

On Sunday the Mets held the Angels to just four hits (and managed five themselves) but still took the loss. The good news is that the bullpen was great on 3.0 innings, one hit, no walks, six Ks and no runs. New York’s bats need to get moving Monday, though.
