SMU won the first two Games of the season, but they struggled in the last Game. In the first Game of the season, SMU won 59-7 and in the last Game against Houston Christian they won 59-7. In the last Game against BYU, though, SMU scored only 15 points, but the defense gave up 18 points and that led to the defeat. The offense gout to a slow start and in the second half they scored only six points on the way to the defeat. 

Quarterback Kevin Jennings wasn’t all that dynamic, and he completed 15 of his 32 passes for 140 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Brashard Smith finished with 14 carries for 75 yards. The defense did have two interceptions. In this Game, SMU needs to find a way to get the offense going or this is going to be a long Game.
