The Padres are red hot right now. They’ve won 6 straight coming into Saturday’s game and I’m going to ride that momentum. The pitching staff has allowed just 7 total runs and tossed 3 shutouts over the 6-game run. King may not be their ace, but he’s won 3 of his last 4 starts allowing just 1 run in each for a 1.48 ERA (24 1/3 IP, 4 ER).
The Orioles are the better team, but right now they are in a bit of a funk coming out of the All-star break. Kremer is 1-4 over his last 6 starts with a 5.65 ERA (28 2/3 IP, 18 ER). These pitching woes is one of the reasons the Orioles bolstered their rotation Friday with the addition of RHP Zach Eflin in a trade with Tampa Bay.
