TOE CLEAVAGE

Recently… I was watching QVC (my mom got me into this after Football season) and some lady was pimping her foot wear and saying, “don’t worry ladies! There’s no TOE CLEAVAGE in this shoe”.

I said, “wait, WHAT? WHAT IN THE HELL IS TOE CLEAVAGE?!!!”  IT just sounds AWFUL! ALL WRONG! ALMOST like the name of a porno! TOE CLEAVAGE ! EWWW… gross, right? I literally had to look that up. I’m 55 years old and had no bleeping clue those 2 words were ever put together to make A NEW WORD. I saw a picture someone on Facebook posted after my OUT LOUD INQUIRY. Bunny, thanks for the visual aid. Much appreciated. I gotta say if you’ve never watched QVC, give it a whirl! What fascinates me about each host is their ability to take a regular ol’ green garden hose and talk it up for 2 hours with crazy word combinations that literally make you feel as though your life will be elevated with the purchase of it. Kim Gravel is one of my favorite designers on the show as she regularly goes on and pimps her “Belle” collection. She’s funny and real and entertaining. I wanna buy her stuff because she’s got such a great sales pitch! In suMMAry… I suppose the moral of this column is:

1.) “Toe cleavage is a real threat to women everywhere (who KNEW)

2.) “TOE CLEVAGE” IS NOT A PORNO

And…

3.) An ESKIMO on QVC could SELL you FREE ice with the right word combinations.

Till next week where we tackle “Rectal Perspiration”…yup. That’s a real thing too.

Who knew?

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES?

A couple of weeks ago it was AT&T customers who experienced a cell outage across the United States. Tuesday, half a million Facebook, Messenger and Instagram users found themselves out in the cold for 3 hours. “Cyber attack?” was the question being asked when FACEBOOK returned. This presidential election could be a crap show.

SPRING FORWARD

It’s Daylight Savings Time this Sunday as we move the clocks forward an hour and lose an hour of sleep, but gain an hour of daylight, nine days before the arrival of Spring. Do you know anyone who actually stays up until 2am Sunday to reset their clocks?

LIFE’S SIMPLE PLEASURES

I still get a tiny buzz of joy at the Stop & Shop self-checkout when the voice asks – “how many paper bags did you use?” – and I enter ZERO again. I still can’t believe they’re charging 10 cents for a paper bag. Just to piss them off, I bring a DAVE’S reusable bag when I shop.

SNAKE BITTEN SOX

Boston’s “biggest” off-season pick up, FA starting pitcher reclamation project Lucas Giolito appears to be headed for the knife for Tommy John surgery. Boston sent pitcher Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves for promising infielder Vaughn Grissom and Sale has looked like the Sale in his heyday in Spring Training while Grissom has been on the shelf with a sore hammy and now a groin sprain. The projected second base starter hasn’t logged an inning this Spring and isn’t expected to be ready for opening day. Strap in for a LONG season.
