Rodgers Points Out New “Leader” In Celtic Dressing Room
Brendan Rodgers singled out a surprising Celtic player for praise this afternoon following the Hoops’ 3-0 win at Fir Park.
With many players impressing against Motherwell, Rodgers chose to highlight a player whose impressive performances have largely flown under the radar.
He said: (PLZ Soccer), “Alex Valle, he’s just turned 20 years of age, he’s coming in and starting to play a lot of Games now. So, yes, it goes right the way through the team.
“A lot of the modern leaders now, they’re not like the old ones. They’re very communicative and speak a lot. I’m very lucky to have that in my changing room.”
Valle has really come into his own, with each aspect of his Game on full display.
His defensive strengths were evident in a backs-to-the-wall performance against Atalanta, where the Spaniard was constantly tested.
This afternoon against Motherwell, his attacking threat was clear, as his cross to Alistair Johnston led to Celtic’s second goal, helping secure the Hoops’ victory.
Valle has certainly demonstrated his flexibility as a full-back.
Greg Taylor will certainly have his work cut out to reclaim his spot in the starting 11, as Valle has stepped up in his absence, and then some.
