The Tampa Bay Rays will head out the Phoenix to start an interleague series with the Arizona Diamondbacks this Tuesday from Chase Field.

Tampa Bay comes in at 54-27 after splitting four games with Kansas City. The Rays have now traded six straight games, and they’ll look to find some consistency here in the desert this week. The Tampa offense is scoring 5.13 runs per game, while batting .263, with a .338 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.71 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP. Yandy Diaz had multiple hits in three of four games against KC, and he leads Tampa in batting (.316), with 38 RBI. Randy Arozarena has produced a run in three of the last five contests, and he’s first on the team in HR (14) and RBI (54). Wander Franco homered in the game three loss, and he leads TB in hits (84), with splits of .287/9/36. Jose Siri homered in both wins over the Royals, and he’s tied with Arozarena for the team-lead in HR at 14.

Taj Bradley (5-3, 3.86 ERA, 74 Ks) will take the hill for Tampa. The rookie righty put together the best outing of his young career against Baltimore last week, striking out eight in a season-high six innings, while allowing just one run en route to his fifth win of the season. Bradley has dealt with natural first-year growing pains, but he’s been one of the stronger rookies in baseball thus far. Bradley has cleared seven strikeouts in four of his last six starts.

Diamondbacks Betting Preview

Arizona moved to 47-32 after dropping two of three to San Francisco. The Diamondbacks were able to cook off the scorching Giants in Game three, and they’ll look to show up for this potential World Series matchup with Tampa. The Arizona offense is scoring 4.78 runs per Game, while batting .273, with a .332 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.84 ERA, with a 1.36 WHIP. Geraldo Perdomo has collected a hit in eight of the last ten Games, and he’s leading Arizona om batting at .296. Christian Walker produced four runs in the final two against SFG, to bring his team-lead to 53 RBI, with 15 homers. Corbin Carroll leads the DBacks in home runs (16), while batting .290, with 41 RBI.

Zac Gallen (9-2, 2.84 ERA, 104 Ks) will get the ball for Arizona. The fifth-year pitcher kept his strong season going with a nice showing in Milwaukee, going seven full innings, while holding the Brewers to just be run. The decision gave Gallen his second straight victory , but he’ll face an uphill battle to pick up win number ten. Each of Gallen’s first eight home appearances have resulted in quality starts.

This could wind up being the best series of the mid-week slate, as both early season darlings have found ways to stay afloat and remain atop their stacked divisions. It’s very hard to look at the Tampa Bay Rays in a profitable spot and not jump on it, but I think the Diamondbacks come to play here in Game one with their ace on the mound. Zac Gallen’s enjoying a marvelous season, and one of the big reasons behind this resurgence in Phoenix. This should be a hard-fought three Games, but let’s back Arizona for Game one of their interleague series.
