With maternal guidance, the calf crossed the obstacle and rejoined its elder sibling before the entire family ventured into the forest to explore together.

While traversing a road in India, a mother elephant and her two calves encountered a challenge when a roadside barrier proved too tall for one of the babies.

While the mother and elder sibling crossed quickly, the younger calf struggled to keep pace with its family.

In its earnest attempt to stay with its family, the calf found the concrete barrier to be a more formidable obstacle than anticipated.

Despite its efforts, including attempting to lift its front legs over the barrier, it couldn’t overcome it alone.

Only through the nurturing assistance of the mother elephant, using her robust trunk, did the little one finally triumph over the roadside impediment.

Despite the excitement of witnessing such a captivating elephant family, Anish maintained a safe distance, recognizing the inherent danger in approaching these protective creatures, especially when accompanied by their young.

Encounters with elephants in such situations can pose significant risks to humans.

Reflecting on the touching encounter, Anish conveyed, “What we observed was a touching scene of the mother elephant employing her trunk to lift and assist her adorable baby elephant in crossing over. It was genuinely a beautiful sight to witness in the morning.”
