Piers Morgan questions Kate Middleton’s healthy Mother’s Day photo, claims she’s ‘thinner’ post-surgery
As conspiracy theorists obsess over Kate Middleton’s farm stand appearance, Piers Morgan still has questions about the Princess of Wales’ edited Mother’s Day snap.
“I’m not convinced that the picture of Kate herself was taken the week before,” the journalist, 58, told TMZ in a clip from the outlet’s “Where is Kate Middleton?” special, airing Thursday.
“I know somebody who saw her that week who said she didn’t look anything like the picture,” he continued. “It was just somebody who bumped into her who knows her who said she looked a lot thinner than she did in the picture.”
Morgan clarified, “Kate is pretty thin anyway and she was described to me as being thinner than usual [after her January abdominal surgery].”
Since Middleton, 42, appeared “absolutely blooming with good health” in the family photo with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” host doubts it is a recent shot.
“I do not believe that’s an accurate reflection of how she accurately looks at the time,” he stated.
After the portrait was shared on March 10, royal fans were quick to point out mismatched zippers, blurry hands and more potential Photoshop errors.
Middleton confessed to “occasionally experiment[ing] with editing” as an “amateur photographer” the following day.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” she wrote in a March 11 statement. “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
On Tuesday, another of Middleton’s portraits was deemed “digitally enhanced” by Getty Images as the photo agency revisited past shots.
The picture in question featured Queen Elizabeth II posing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in April 2022.
Editing aside, Middleton also sent tongues wagging when she and Prince William visited a Windsor farmer’s market on Saturday.
When photos of the weekend outing made headlines Monday, many social media users speculated about the use of a body double.
Andy Cohen summed up the suspicions, tweeting, “That ain’t Kate.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tech CEO pal Christopher Bouzy, meanwhile, posted old videos to question Kate’s height difference from her husband in the new pictures.
Palace sources told Page Six the outing was initially meant to “put an end to” conspiracy theories.
Cricketer Kevin Pietersen came to Middleton’s defense via X on Tuesday, claiming he has seen her “in the last couple days.”
He concluded, “Let K who is recovering from an operation recover. Leave her and her beautiful family alone!!!!”
