The San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Saturday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Philadelphia Phillies vs San Francisco Giants Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The San Francisco Giants will trot out Keaton Winn here, and Winn is 3-3 with a 3.18 ERA and 28 strikeouts this season. This will be Winn’s first career start against Philadelphia. The Phillies will send out Ranger Suarez for this start, and he is 5-0 with a 1.32 ERA and 40 strikeouts this season. In his career, Suarez is 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 9 strikeouts against San Francisco.

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants will look to rebound from their loss in the series opener by a final score of 4-3. San Francisco put up 2 runs in the second inning, but fell behind 4-2 by the end of the 4th. San Fran would log another run in the 7th, but that’s as close as they would get as the Phillies would hold on for the win in the end. It wasn’t the start to the series the Giants wanted after their series loss to the Red Sox to start the week.

Giants’ Offense Continues To Struggle With Consistency

Entering Friday, Michael Conforto leads the Giants with 29 hits including 6 doubles, 5 home runs and a team-high 16 RBIs along with a .250 batting average and Jorge Soler also has 5 home runs while Matt Chapman has 28 hits with 7 doubles, 4 home runs and 14 RBIs with a team-high 3 stolen bases. Jung Hoo Lee also has 29 hits with 3 doubles while Soler has a team-high 33 strikeouts.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win

  • Probable Starting Pitcher: Keaton Winn Record this season: 3-3 ERA: 3.18
  • The Giants have won each of their last seven games against National League opponents following a loss.
  • The Phillies have lost four of their last six games as home favorites against National League opponents following a home win.
  • The Phillies have failed to cover the run line in each of their last nine games against the Giants following a win.
  • The Giants have covered the run line in each of their last eight games against the Phillies following a loss.

Philadelphia Phillies Team Recap

The Phillies are looking to stay hot after their 3rd straight win and 7th in the last 8, following up back-to-back series wins over the Angels and Padres and starting this weekend’s set on the right foot. The Phils had some close calls, but a 3-run 3rd inning and another run in the 4th would prove to be the difference.

Phillies Cooking At The Dish Right Now

Trea Turner leads the Phillies with 45 hits including 10 doubles and 9 stolen bases with a .336 batting average while Kyle Schwarber has a team-high 8 home runs with 48 strikeouts this season. Bryce Harper’s added 5 doubles, 6 home runs and 18 RBIs while Alec Bohm has a team-high 30 RBIs as well as a team-high 12 doubles of his own and Brandon Marsh also has 6 home runs and 17 RBIs this season.

Why the Philadelphia Phillies will win

  • Probable Starting Pitcher: Ranger Suarez Record this season: 5-0 ERA: 1.32
  • The Phillies have won 15 of their last 16 home games against National League opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Giants have lost each of their last four road games against National League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Phillies have covered the run line in each of their last eight Saturday night home games against National League opponents.
  • The Phillies have led after 5 innings in each of their last 11 games against opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Phillies have led after 3 innings in each of their last nine night games against opponents that held a losing record.

Philadelphia Phillies vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’m on the Phillies here. I like Keaton Winn, and he’s pitched well, but it’s kind of the same issue that Jordan Hicks had on Friday. He has good numbers, but the Phillies will likely be the toughest lineup he’s faced so far. Suarez has been rolling throughout the season, and I think this Game could be more of the same when all is said and done. Give me the Phillies.

Chris Ruffolo's Free Pick: Philadelphia -152
