P Diddy vs 50 Cent: What to Know about the Rappers’ Ongoing Feud, Careers, Net Worth, and More
P Diddy and 50 Cent both started out in the industry at the same time, in the 1990s. Though they started as friendly colleagues, their relationship soon devolved into a two-decade-long feud that is still ongoing to this very day. Here’s everything we know about the P Diddy vs 50 Cent feud.
Feuds in the hip-hop sphere are nothing new. Rappers often take jabs at one another through their music and beats. In fact, it wasn’t long ago that the internet couldn’t get enough of the Drake vs Kendrick Lamar beef. While interest in their beef appears to have died down for now, another rap battle has risen to take its place.
Nearly two decades since their beef first started, P Diddy vs 50 Cent is making headlines again. Life was almost smooth sailing for Diddy until November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Cassie accused him of rape and sexual assault. He was quick to deny the allegations made against him and even more quickly settled the lawsuit the next day. However, in September 2024, Puff Daddy, also known as P Diddy or Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, was arrested on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Though many of Diddy’s close Celebrity buddies have chosen to remain silent, 50 Cent has wasted little time in sharing his thoughts on his longtime rival on social media.
Here’s the 14-page indictment against Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Curtis James Jackson III, aka 50 Cent, has repeatedly shown why you don’t want to get on his bad side. While it is common for new tracks to drop when two rappers are beefing, we’re being spoiled with a whole new documentary and expose this go around. Its proponent: 50 Cent, whose documentary about Diddy and his allegations had been sold to Netflix. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s dive deep into the P Diddy vs 50 Cent rivalry, which has spanned many years.
P Diddy vs 50 Cent: The complete timeline of their legendary feud
Where their careers began
P Diddy started his career in 1990 as an intern at New York’s Uptown Records. In 1993, shortly after being fired from Uptown, he started his own label Bad Boy Records and signed Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G. On the opposite side of the fence, 50 Cent started his music career in 1996, when Diddy was already an established hip-hop star. In 2002, 50 Cent signed with Eminem’s label Shady Records; notably, Eminem has also harboured a years-long disdain for Diddy, which he has made obvious in his raps and lyrics.
Interestingly, there was no animosity between the rappers at the beginning, with 50 Cent even ghostwriting Diddy’s verse for the 2001 hit “Let’s Get It”. The track later proved to be one of the most prophetic songs ever, with the lyrics:
“Aiyyo, call me Diddy – I run this city
Send the cops, the D.A. and feds to come get me
Cats want to leave me for dead you comin with me
Gettin head in the Bentley red at one fifty
Straight lose it, love two things my family my music
Might co-write and produce it
Drop mine, hot 9 exclusive
Got y’all Hawkin like Yusef
Cause I can, break backs and stacks it’s no problem
Make raps and tracks and go Harlem
I get worldwide coverage
Got so many spots I don’t even buy luggage, ya love it
Make moves major, hide out in Asia
If your girl keep comin around them I’m a blaze her
I’m the Bad Boy flavor, light blue gators
NOT GUILTY, and I’m filthy, c’mon”
In another shocking twist of fate, the music video features Puff Daddy in a t-shirt with the number 24 on it. Notably, 2024 is the year he was arrested for his crimes.
50 Cent drops “The Bomb”
In 2006, 50 Cent dropped the song “The Bomb,” which first took his feud with Combs into the public eye. His lyrics in the song insinuate that Diddy was somehow related to the murder of Biggie aka The Notorious B.I.G. He sang, “Who shot Biggie Smalls? If we don’t get them, they gon’ kill us all / Man, Puffy know who hit that nigga, man; that n–gga soft / He scared them boys from the West Side gon’ break him off / Jump on his a–s, so he run to Harlem shake them off.”
Combs has vehemently denied all accusations of his alleged ties to the murders of Biggie and Tupac Shakur.
The Ciroc vs. Effen vodka battle begins

The rivalry intensified when 50 Cent entered the spirits market. In 2010, he became a promoter and investor in Effen Vodka, a direct comPetitor to Diddy’s Ciroc Vodka, which was a key component of Diddy’s financial empire. 50 Cent used his social media outlets to criticise and taunt Ciroc, saying, “Puff’s is not even vodka. It’s grapes [and] says ‘made with vodka,’ you know what I’m saying?”
He went on to add “[Effen] is made from wheat from Holland and distilled five times so it’s a lot less sugar, it’s the right way. And then later when you have a headache because you finished your full bottle of Ciroc… I told you I was smarter.”
The battles continue
50 Cent has never been shy about exposing his issues with Combs on social media. In a 2018 interview on the Drink Champs podcast, Curtis mentioned that the Bad Boy Records owner made him feel a “little uncomfortable” when he offered to take him shopping.
The rapper said, “He asked to take me shopping. I thought that was the weirdest sh–t in the world because that might be something that a man says to a woman,” he said. “And I’m just like, ‘Naw, I’m not f–cking with this weird energy or weird sh–t,’ coming off the way he was just moving. From that, I wasn’t comfortable around him.”
The marketing war between Effen Vodka and Ciroc also intensified with 50 taking jabs at Diddy on social media every now and then. In a 2018 appearance on The Breakfast Club, Combs joked that 50 Cent loves him, saying, “Y’all can’t see that he loves me? You really think that’s hate? You know he loves me”. He even sarcastically asked Curtis to be his friend, saying, “Yo, 50 please be my friend. 50 you’re breaking my heart. Curtis, please be my friend. Please”.

Following his ex girlfriend Cassie’s allegations of rape and sexual abuse in November 2023, Sean Combs settled the lawsuit and parted ways with many of his brand collaborations. Not one to miss out on taking a shot, 50 Cent took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to joke about how he would like to buy Diddy’s partnerships from him.
A few months later in September 2024, HSI came knocking on the doors of Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami homes, arresting him on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Since then, even more victims have come forward with allegations of violence and sexual assault, adding weight to ongoing investigations that have surrounded the rapper for months now. If proven guilty, Diddy faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
When news first broke of Diddy’s arrest, 50 wrote on X, “Now it’s not Diddy do it, it’s Diddy done.” He went on to add, “they don’t come like that unless they got a case”.

When CNN released a video that showed Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel lobby, his fellow rapper and rival voiced his opinion in The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “First, he denied that it even happened, and then the tape comes out — so that means everything that n–gga says is a lie.” He added, “When someone watches that, if they have a daughter and they can imagine her being under those circumstances, that sh–t is crazy. Like, they let him get away with it.”
50 Cent avoided Diddy’s parties on purpose
Following the unfolding of Diddy’s drama and the new connotations of his ‘white parties’, 50 Cent has chimed in with his own thoughts. “I’ve been very vocal about not going to Puffy parties and doing sh–t like that,” he said, referring to the now-infamous ‘freak-offs’. “I’ve been staying out of that sh–t for years. It’s just an uncomfortable energy connected to it. It’s not uncomfortable for me to say what I said because I’ve been saying this sh–t for four years, five years. I been telling you, I don’t f–ck with him. I don’t like the way he moving. This is a little crazy.”
50 Cent is set to release a documentary on the accusations against P. Diddy next year on Netflix.
P Diddy vs 50 Cent: The battle of their net worths
American rapper, musician, record producer, entrepreneur, and designer P. Diddy aka Sean Combs currently has a net worth of USD 600 million. Diddy’s record label, Bad Boy Entertainment, catapulted him to global superstardom. As a music executive, he has iNFLuenced the careers of many singers including The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Faith Evans. He has also produced singles for Usher, Lil’ Kim, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and TLC among others. Along the way, Diddy established many successful clothing lines, two reality shows, a successful spirits brand, a media firm, and even kicked off a fairly successful acting career.
