Celtic have been making headlines in Germany the morning after their famous Champions League win over RB Leipzig.

It didn’t look likely when Christoph Baumgartner gave the visitors an early lead, but the Hoops secured a statement victory on the biggest stage of all, taking their league phase points tally to seven from four Games.

Post-match, popular German Sports outlet Bild described Celtic goal hero Nicolas Kuhn as a ‘no name’ who ’embarrassed’ RB Leipzig.

The winger spent some time in their academy, but Bild writes that Ralf Ragnick didn’t think his Game suited the Red Bulls’ high-pressing style.

Kuhn, though, came back to haunt his old team last night and prove Ragnick’s judgement wrong, Bild hailing him as a ‘celebrated hero’ in Glasgow.

Elsewhere this morning, Suddeutsche Zeitung claim Leipzig were ‘overrun’ by the Celts and that Brendan Rodgers’ side did to their opponents last night what Borussia Dortmund did to them on matchday two of the Champions League.

Leipziger Volkszeitung are writing about how Mali international Amadou Haidara, who has made just shy of 200 appearances for Leipzig throughout his career, ‘couldn’t control’ the power of Celtic’s attack.

Similarly, the Football section of WELT News reports that Celtic’s high-press caused their opponents ‘big problems’ in the opening stages. They also claim that the Hoops’ ferocious attacking prowess left the Bundesliga’s best defence ‘partly dizzy’ until the final whistle.

Although Leipzig had lost every one of their Champions League games up until last night, one cannot take anything away from the grandeur of the Hoops’ win.

The fact that Celtic emerged victorious was one thing, but how they did it – by playing high-pressing, fast-paced, ball-dominant attacking Football – was another.

With seven points from four league phase matches up to this point, fans are beginning to dream, and rightly so.
