Oregon opened up the season with a pretty tight matchup versus Idaho. The Ducks were up 14-0 at the break and had to hang on for a 24-14 win. QB Dillon Gabriel posted 380 yards with two scores, and Jordan James led the rush on 95 yards and a TD of his own.

In their second matchup versus Boise State, the Ducks had a 20-14 deficit by the break but ultimately came back for the win 37-34. Gabriel threw for 243 yards and two scores, and James led the rush again with 17 totes for 102 yards. Evan Stewart caught five balls for 112 yards and a TD.

Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview

Over on the Oregon State side, they kicked things off against Idaho State this year. The Beavers scored points in every quarter on the way to a 38-15 win. Gevani McCoy bagged 114 pass yards and a score. Jamious Griffin and Anthony Hankerson were the real MVPs though, combining for four TDs and a whopping 315 rush yards.

The Beavers took on the San Diego State Aztecs in Game two. Oregon State would lead 7-0 for most of the Game, then finished off a 21-0 shutout with a couple of late scores. McCoy had 160 yards passing this time, while the Griffin/Hankerson duo had 34 carries for 160 yards and two scores.

I’ll go with Oregon State here. The Beavers were in great form during their win over San Diego State last weekend. Oregon State posted 420 total yards (237 rushing), 23 first downs and a 41:07 mark in time of possession. Defensively Oregon State shut down the Aztecs with 179 yards allowed (107 passing), seven first downs and a 2-of-12 success rate on third-down tries.

As for Oregon, they had some struggles on Saturday versus a gritty Boise State squad. The Ducks had just 16 first downs, two lost fumbles and a 4-of-12 rate on third downs. That said, Oregon powered out the win. This weekend’s matchup should be pretty epic as well, and I like the Beavers a little better on a cover.
