We're fast approaching the tail-end of the 2023/24 season, with plenty of fans already looking ahead to how their teams can strengthen during the offseason.

Plenty of players have been linked with the Premier League's top clubs already in 2024 and that list is only set to increase as the time ticks by towards the opening of the summer transfer window.

But what if the Premier League's top six could only sign one player in the summer? Who would Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea sign?

Well, that's what we're here to find out...

Liverpool - Khephren Thuram

Liverpool's midfield has undergone major surgery over the last 12 months, with £150m being spent last summer in order to rejuvenate it.

And despite the new signings taking to life at Anfield well, there's still some room for even more improvements in the middle of the park.

Enter Khephren Thuram.

The France international would be the perfect foil to Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, fluctuating seamlessly between a holding and creative midfield role depending on what the team needs.

Man City - Joshua Kimmich

Look, when you're Man City you don't really need to sign anyone.

But if Pep Guardiola had to pick someone to sign, Joshua Kimmich isn't a half-bad option. The Germany international has the positional versatility that Guardiola loves, providing world class quality as a full-back, midfielder or even a centre-back when needed.

Arsenal - Alex Grimaldo

Inverted full-backs have been key to Arsenal's tactical system under Mikel Arteta, and there's no better inverted full-back than Alex Grimaldo in world football right now.

Playing in that roaming role at Bayer Leverkusen, Grimaldo has bagged 20 (yes, 20) goal contributions throughout the 2023/24 campaign.

He'd help take Arsenal to the next level.

Tottenham - Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher has been heavily linked with Tottenham since Ange Postecoglou took over in north London, and if you've watched any Premier League football this season you'll know why.

The Chelsea midfielder is the perfect box-to-box midfielder for Postecolglou's expansive tactical set-up as he can contribute well on both sides of the ball.

90min understands that Spurs could get Chelsea's price tag down to £50m this summer, which would be a very digestible fee for a proven Premier League-quality midfielder.

Man Utd - Douglas Luiz

Where do you start with a problem like the current Man Utd squad?

Well, as you would've at any point in the last 10 years, the midfield of course.

With Casemiro looking rather over-the-hill of late and Sofyan Amrabat looking like he's not up to at all, Man Utd need to find a midfield partner for their new wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo. That partner would need to both compliment Mainoo and add physical presence to the midfield, and take a bit of the ball-playing pressure off the youngster too.

Douglas Luiz is a player who can do all of the above.

Chelsea - Victor Osimhen

While Man Utd have needed a midfielder for a decade, Chelsea have probably needed a new number nine for even longer.

From Radamel Falcao, to Alvaro Morata, to Romelu Lukaku, the Blues have had their fair share of forward flops down the years and, judging by his form this season, it seems Nicolas Jackson looks set to join that list.

Jackson's struggles have led to Chelsea fans calling for their club to go out and sign a genuinely world class striker in the summer, and the most obvious - and available - answer to that call is Victor Osimhen.
