Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn has hilariously responded to suggestions that he should have been sent off in the Hoops’ win over Ross County yesterday.

It was a hard-fought victory for the Bhoys in the Highlands; a turgid Staggies team made them work for the points.

Boyhood Celtic fan Ronan Hale gave the Highlanders the lead with a first-half penalty before Alistair Johnston and wide-man Kuhn responded in the last 15 minutes.

The German was already on a booking when he was engulfed by the jubilant Travelling supporters following his go-ahead goal, leading many to suggest he should have been giving his marching orders.

Kuhn, rather hilariously, wasn’t even aware he was handed an initial caution earlier in the match.

“I didn’t even know that I got a booking,” he said (Sky Sports).

“I don’t even know for what. I don’t think I did something.”

Kuhn was shown a yellow card by Kevin Clancy in the second half for his scuffle with County captain Connor Randall.

VAR briefly checked the incident, but sensibly, nothing came of it.

The 24-year-old stayed on the pitch and showed some typical German efficiency to ensure Celtic went into the second international break of the season on a positive note.

Their attention now turns to a friendly with Sligo Rovers on Wednesday evening. Rodgers will take the team to Ireland, looking to give minutes to those on the fringes of his squad and some academy youngsters.

Kick-off at the Showground is at 7:30pm.
