New Tenants Prepare To Launch Restaurant at El Toro Loco
Plenty of eyes have been watching to see what's next for 1955 South Road, the former home to the legendary Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse, followed by The Tilted Kilt, and most recently El Toro Loco.
Things are looking good from the outside, and the sneak peeks we've been checking out on Instagram for La Fortaleza, Poughkeepsie's newest spot for Authentic Mexican Cuisine.

La Fortaleza Poughkeepsie Prepares To Open
The 'now hiring' signs have been up for a bit, and according to our research, this new Mexican spot in between the Poughkeepsie Galleria and The Shoppes at South Hills will be opening their doors in the near future.
New to Poughkeepsie, but not a new concept, La Fortaleza has six restaurants in total across New Jersey, with ours being the first in New York State! A quick look at the website and socials shows some some classics as well as unique menu items, and though the Poughkeepsie menu is not yet posted, you can get an idea of what to expect from their other locations here.
La Fortaleza To Bring Flavor and Color To Poughkeepsie
While many of us still regularly reminisce about the good ol' days of 'kissing the moose' inside Bugaboo Creek at this particular location, it looks like we're in for an equally as fun experience at La Fortaleza. Based on the vibrant colors and fun decor from their other locations (check out that video below), we can assume that Poughkeepsie patrons will soon experience the same.
As if the menu and colorful restaurant decor wasn't enough, this adorable La Fortaleza vehicle parked outside the Poughkeepsie location (pictured below) was enough to draw me in.
As soon as we receive official word on an opening date, we will be sure to update this story!
