The San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings meet Sunday in NFL action from US Bank Stadium. Here’s a Minnesota Vikings vs San Francisco 49ers prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Vikings vs 49ers pick.

San Francisco 49ers Betting Preview

San Francisco lost their first game of the preseason to the Tennessee Titans 17-13. The 49ers were able to beat the Saints 16-10 in game two, however. In the exhibition finale versus the Raiders, San Francisco came away with a tie 24-24 to finish 1-1-1 in the preseason.

On Monday in Week 1 versus the New York Jets, the 49ers scored in every quarter on the way to a 32-19 win. QB Brock Purdy finished 19-of-29 with 231 yards. Jordan Mason had 28 carries for 147 yards and a score.

Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

Over on the Minnesota side, they were able to run the table in their preseason matchups. The Vikings eked out a victory versus the Raiders 24-23 in the opener, then beat the Browns 27-12. Minnesota’s exhibition finale ended up as a 26-3 blowout win over the Eagles.

Back on Sunday versus the Giants in their first real Game of the season, the Vikings didn’t have too much trouble. Minnesota was up 14-3 by halftime and ultimately cruised to a 28-6 win. Sam Darnold posted 208 pass yards with two scores and a pick. Aaron Jones was the team’s top rusher with 94 yards and a score off 14 carries.

Minnesota Vikings vs San Francisco 49ers Prediction

I’ll lean toward the 49ers. San Francisco took care of the Jets Monday with 401 total yards, 25 first downs, zero turnovers and 38:40 in time of possession in a nice offensive effort. The 49ers defense held New York in check with 266 yards (68 rushing), 14 first downs and two takeaways.

As for Minnesota, they’re coming off a nice win over the Giants this past weekend, but a look at the stats leaves something to be desired on offense. Minnesota posted 312 total yards (201 passing) and 17 first downs, however they also had a pair of turnovers and went a rough 3-of-10 on third-down tries. The Vikings should be able to compete here—especially if they get more consistent—but I like SF on the cover better.
