The Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins meet Monday in MLB action from Target Field. Here’s a White Sox vs Twins prediction. This will be the first installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The White Sox took a pair of rough losses in their first two games versus the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend, falling 7-0 and 9-5. On Sunday Chicago took another loss 8-2 for the sweep. The Sox managed just four team hits along the way, one coming on a two-run homer from Eloy Jimenez in the first inning.

In the starter role for the White Sox on Monday it’ll be Jonathan Cannon. Over his lone start this year Cannon put up 5.0 innings with one earned run on three hits and one walk alongside three Ks.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they split their first two weekend Games versus the Detroit Tigers. Game one was a 5-4 loss; Game two was a 4-3 win. In the Sunday rubber match the Twins took a 6-1 loss. Starting pitcher Louie Varland was yanked after 2.2 innings, four earned, three hits and four walks.

It’ll be Chris Paddack in the starting role for the White Sox on Monday. Over three starts so far Paddack is 0-1 with an 8.36 ERA and nine Ks in 14.0 innings. Paddack is 22-22 with a 4.38 ERA in 71 career MLB Games (68 starts).

White Sox vs Twins Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with the Twins. Paddack needs a major bounce-back effort on the mound, though. In his last start April 16 versus the Orioles, Paddack coughed up nine earned runs on 12 hits and a walk in 5.1 innings during a loss. Prior to that he’d managed 8.2 frames with four earned over two combined starts. As for Cannon, he did well in his first outing and it will be interesting to see how he looks on Monday.

On Sunday the Twins got a rough start from Varland and couldn’t find much success offensively. The good news is that the bullpen did pretty well with two earned on four hits and two walks in 6.1 innings of work. That said, Minnesota didn’t get much going on offense. They’ll need a turnaround on both sides Monday, but the matchup should be favorable.
