The Javier Aguirre era got off to a good start for Mexico, defeating New Zealand 3-0, but Canada will be a much tougher test for El Tri. The Canucks are riding quite the wave of confidence under Jesse Marsch and can end this international window with a sweep of their Concacaf rivals with a victory. After being withdrawn against the United States due to feeling some hamstring tightness, right back Alistair Johnston may not be risked by Canada, which could lead to a start for Richie Laryea.

Storylines

Mexico: After rolling over New Zealand, Mexico are still looking for goals from Santiago Gimenez. The 23-year-old striker only has four goals in 31 senor appearances, failing to score in seven consecutive appearances for the national team. Mexico has been searching for a striker and Gimenez has been dominant in the Netherlands with Feyenoord, but it has yet to translate. Facing a stout Canadian defense, Gimenez will need to be at the top of his Game.

Canada: Marsch has already proven that he can have his team ready for any challenge in their path. A well organized defense makes things easier, but the form of Jacob Shaffelburg has made the Canucks tough to beat. If Mexico lets their guard down, they'll either be dispossessed or beaten on the break which makes this tie quite interesting.

Prediction

Mexico and Canada will trade blows in the match but they won't be able to be separated as they play to a draw. Pick: Mexico 2, Canada 2
