We’ve got 12 Games on the NHL betting slate tonight, including a matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers.

It’ll be the first time the Leafs have been back on the ice since Saturday. The NHL odds suggest the Buds an advantage tonight, but the real advantage for bettors comes in the power play points prop market.

Maple Leafs vs Flyers predictions

The Toronto Maple Leafs are back in action tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers after a four-night hiatus.

Each team will be without a key member of their team for tonight’s game, with Toronto expected to be without Mitch Marner due to injury, while the Flyers will be without John Tortorella behind the bench as he serves the second game of his suspension.

Marner’s absence has prompted Leafs Head Coach Sheldon Keefe to make changes to the lineup, most notably elevating John Tavares back up to the second line and first power play unit. This is where I see great value in the betting market tonight, with Tavares getting +360 odds to go Over 0.5 points on the power play tonight.

The captain has spent that last month on PP2 but will get an opportunity to operate with more ice time on the top unit. Tavares has made a living on the power play, with nearly half of his production coming on the man advantage over the past couple of years.

However, this is very much a value play for me. At +360 odds. Tavares is priced as if he’s still on PP2, and I think that makes this a juicy wager — especially since he’s got five power-play points in his last five games against this Flyers team.

As for Philly, this is a penalty kill that is really struggling to keep the puck out of the net right now, surrendering five goals over its last two games on nine opportunities without John Tortorella on the bench.

Additionally, the four-day break should work to Toronto’s benefit, as the team was dealing with injuries and a flu bug last week.

My best bet: John Tavares Over 0.5 power-play points (+360 at SIA)

Whether it’s at 5-on-5 or on the man advantage, Auston Matthews to score has been a pretty solid bet all year long. He’s been in a tiny funk with just two goals in his last five games, but after four days off to recover, he should be ready to go tonight. Plus, he had a hat trick against the Flyers in the earlier meetings between these two clubs.

Next up, I like the Leafs to win the game. The Flyers have been playing .500 hockey lately and are just barely hanging on to their spot in the playoffs. I think the rest will benefit Toronto tonight as well. Additionally, the Leafs have the No. 1 road scoring offense in the NHL with an average of 3.5 goals scored per game, which is why they’ve gone 19-7-6 as the away side. I’m not so sure Philly will be able to keep up with them when all is said and done.

For my final leg, I’ll take the alternate total of Under 7.5 goals. The Leafs and Flyers have both been hitting the Under of late. Both teams have gone Under this number in six straight games, and I think we see a similar outcome here tonight.

Maple Leafs vs Flyers moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Maple Leafs come into tonight as the road favorite at -145 odds, with the Flyers getting +120 odds at home. The Buds have played really well on the road this season and are the more rested team with four days off since their last game compared to just one day of rest for Philadelphia.

The total for tonight’s game is set at 6.0 goals, shaded toward the Over at -120 and the Under at even money (+100) odds. Both of these teams have been hitting the Under pretty consistently. However, 6.0 goals is such a low total for a Leafs game. I’d prefer to buy a goal and a half and take the alternate Under of 7.5 goals.
