A man has managed to become a true hero for a defenseless little animal . He was far from imagining that that day, which seemed like any other, he would come across a strange bird.

The rescue happened on the busy streets of Brighton, Australia , when a kind-hearted man came across what he at first thought was a ball of fluff on the ground, it wasn’t until the passer-by approached that he noticed that The tiny white ball of fur had little legs and a face .

Man encounters a furball and discovers that it is a strange bird.

Upon closer inspection, he realized that it wasn’t fluff or fluff, but rather a small baby bird.

Later, the man managed to identify that it was an Australian podargo, better known as the tawny frogmouth , a spectacular bird from Australia and Tasmania.

These rare birds can be found in almost any type of habitat, including forests, bushlands and savannahs. However, they are rarely seen in dense rainforests and treeless deserts.

Frogmouths are common in the suburbs, over time they have adapted to human presence . According to several reports, this species nests in parks and gardens with trees, so it is not strange that our tiny protagonist has fallen from his nest in a busy place.

Fortunately, he was seen in time by a man who did not hesitate to provide him with all the help he needed. The person deduced that the bird may have fallen while trying to fly from a nearby tree .

Before making the decision to take him to provide first aid, the man searched the area for the feathered family but did not obtain good results.

It was then that the rescuer decided to move the Australian podargo to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a representative of the sanctuary commented:

“The rescuer couldn’t locate his parents or the nest, so he brought him to us.”

At the sanctuary he received all the care he needed, from the first moment he arrived he caught the attention of all his caregivers, the little ball of fur received the name Pod, he was fed and pampered by everyone .

After receiving all the care he needed, it was published on the Facebook account, the description reads:

“Can you tell what this cute little ball of fluff is?”

In response to this, many Internet users melted with love after the publication. Some of the comments read:

“One of the most beautiful Animals I have ever seen.” “It doesn’t matter what it is, but I need it. “It’s absolutely beautiful.” “If it’s not dust with a pickaxe, it’s a baby frog’s mouth.”

This species is often confused with owls due to the size of its head, its brown coloration, which allows it to camouflage itself in nature easily, and it also has nocturnal life.

They are considered among the most effective pest control birds in Australia , because their diet consists mainly of pests such as nocturnal insects, moths, spiders, worms, ants, among others. They also eat small maMMAls, reptiles, frogs and birds.

According to experts at the Australian Museum, adult tawny frogmouths build their nests with loose sticks, and once their babies are born, they take turns keeping them warm.

For now, Pod will live in the sanctuary until he is big and strong enough to be able to function on his own in his natural habitat.

We are happy to know that thanks to the noble heart of a man, this adorable little bird will have a new opportunity. It is only a matter of time before it returns to its habitat among the trees where it belongs.
