Magic vs Bucks Predictions, Picks & Odds - 4-10-2024

Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic will make the trip to Fiserv Forum on Wednesday to take on Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks, and we have searched through the NBA odds to find you the best bet for this matchup. 

The Milwaukee Bucks, who had been reeling of late after some pretty awful losses, were able to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they knocked off the Boston Celtics. With the Orlando Magic right on the Bucks' heels for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, this is a massive Game for both teams.

Magic team total Over 107.5 points (-118 at Pinnacle)

My analysis
This Orlando Magic squad doesn't scream offense, especially when on the tail-end of a back-to-back and on the road, but the injuries to the Milwaukee Bucks' frontcourt have me hitting the button on the Over 107.5 points (-118) for the Magic's team total. 

We already knew coming into this game that Giannis Antetokounmpo would be ruled out for the Bucks, but then we got a late addition of Khris Middleton also being ruled out. This puts the Bucks' defense in a bind, especially when the opposing team is the Magic. 

Antetokoumpo and Middleton are solid defensive players and their minutes will be replaced by players such as Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis, who couldn't guard a bank with a machine gun. Against a team that relies more heavily on their backcourt, it's not that big of a deal, but that's not the Magic. Their offense runs through Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, so this is not the game to be missing two of your better defenders in the frontcourt. 

Banchero and Wagner will both have a much easier time without Antetokounmpo and Middleton, but I think the Magic bench will also be able to pour it on. Brook Lopez isn't going out there and protecting the rim for 40 minutes, that's just not where he is at in his career anymore, which means there will be a ton of minutes where the Bucks' interior defense gets even softer. Look for the pick-and-roll combination of Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner to expose this. Cole Anthony should also be able to keep the second unit humming. 

When you look at the projections, they have the Magic scoring closer to 111 points against the Bucks on Wednesday, which is why I favor the Over on the Magic team total with it trading at 107.5 (-118) at Pinnacle.

The best price on the Magic to go Over their team total is at Pinnacle, but unfortunately, you can't make an SGP at their Sportsbook. We are going to have to make our SGP at bet365, but they are trading the team total at 108.5. I much prefer the 107.5, especially since it is trading at a similar juice. 

I highlighted in my best bet that Antetokounmpo and Middleton being out hurts the Bucks' defense because they are plus defenders who would draw Banchero and Wagner. I think we will see the latter pair have nice games on the offensive side of the ball, and Banchero's points prop and Wagner's assists prop are my two favorite ones for this superstar duo on the Magic.

• The total opened at 212.5 at FanDuel and we have seen it move as high as 216.5, but then drop back down to 214.5, which is a consensus number in the market.
