LeBron James will have something of a unique experience on the Los Angeles Lakers next year.

Because L.A. opted to take his eldest son, Bronny, with their second-round selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, LeBron will need to figure out how he wants to treat his boy when he plays poorly.

Bronny has played in just two Summer League Games so far, but the list of lowlights he has put up speaks for itself.

This week LeBron revealed how he plans to discipline his new Lakers teammate when Bronny doesn’t do what he needs to on the court.

“It’s going to work just like any one other of my teaMMAtes,” James told Craig Melvin this week.

“I’m going to hold him accountable, and he should hold me accountable when I do things not right. I can separate dad from teammate. And, I think, as he continues to grow, and as he continues to learn, I hope he’s able to separate son from teammate, as well.”

The Lakers are clearly very committed to Bronny. They are even getting rid of one player in order to make room for him.

Based on everything we’ve seen thus far, the expectation is that Bronny will be able to contribute to some degree in 2024.

What sort of dynamic will ultimately play out between LeBron and Bronny on the Lakers? Time will tell.
