LeBron James expresses frustration over gun laws in wake of LV shooting
On Wednesday, another mass shooting occurred in the United States, this time at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. Three people have already been confirmed dead in a senseless act with the suspect reportedly dead as well. As these tragic events have become a regular occurrence in the United States, people are getting frustrated and feeling hopeless.
That’s how Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was feeling when he spoke to the media about the shooting. James has been an advocate for gun control for many years and speaks out whenever mass shootings occur, and the frustration in his voice after this most recent one was quite clear.
“We’re the only ones who keep dealing with this same story, the same conversation, every single time it happens. And it just continues to happen,” said James. “The ability to get a gun and ability to do these things over and over and over, and there’s been no change, is literally ridiculous. It makes no sense that we continue to lose innocent lives on campuses, in schools and shopping markets and movie theaters ... It’s ridiculous, just ridiculous.”
