China’s “Elephant Face Man” is able to live a normal life after having his fourth surgery to remove a tumor on his face.

Mr. Huang Chuncai, 37 years old, from Hunan province, China once had a tumor weighing up to 25kg on his face and extending down to his waist. But after four surgeries, the tumor on his face has now lost 21 kg in weight.

This is the most severe case of neurofibromatosis ever recorded. With a huge tumor on his face, he could barely walk, eat or sleep.

Mr. Huang did not receive treatment for 30 years because his parents could not pay the hospital bills. He is only 1.2m tall because the pressure from the giant tumor impacted his spine, stopping his growth and causing his back to become hunchbacked.

He said: “My tumor is very big. I always had to hold it up every time I stood up to go somewhere.” When his parents received an offer and money for him to appear in a circus performance show, he felt so traumatized that he thought about committing suicide.

In 2007, thanks to the help of the media, Huang’s case was discovered. The Chinese government decided to help him undergo major surgery to remove the tumor from his face. But doctors at Fuda Cancer Institute are not sure they can perform surgery because the tumor size is too large.

Doctor Wu Binghui, director of Fuda Institute, said: “I was really shocked. I have never seen a tumor that big on a human. The tumor is very large, and filled with blood. Blood will flow when the knife is inserted. surgery.”

However, after undergoing 4 surgeries over the past 7 years, doctors successfully removed 21kg of Mr. Huang’s tumor. Mr. Huang’s mother, Ms. He Baohua, shared: “My son’s face is now smaller and more compact. We are very happy because from now on his life will be easier.”

After the final surgery, Mr. Huang hopes to be able to live a normal life. He shared:

“I feel very good. This time my face feels a lot better, it’s lighter, and eating is easier. I hope I can go to work and make money – I’ll help with the work at store. Now the tumor is much smaller, I look better.”/.
