A number of prominent NBA players have changed teams over the last few weeks.

Klay Thompson, Dejounte Murray and DeMar DeRozan will all start the 2024-25 NBA season in a different place than the one they ended the year at.

The two biggest names who have yet to change teams are Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine. While the former currently has three teams fighting for his services, the market for the latter has been very soft.

LaVine, 29, has a list of four teams he wants to go to.

Only one of those teams has any actual interest in him, though.

This week, Fadeaway World proposed a blockbuster trade centered around LaVine that would rock the NBA to its core.

The deal would see the Los Angeles Lakers get LaVine, Collin Sexton and Walker Kessler; the Chicago Bulls would get D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, and a 2025 second-rounder; and the Utah Jazz would get Austin Reaves, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Cam Redish, a 2031 first-rounder and a second-rounder.

By any objective measure, this would be a win-win-win.

L.A. gets a legitimate star in LaVine coupled with a burgeoning one in Sexton and a really versatile center in Kessler.

Chicago finally dumps LaVine, gets an expiring contract in Russell and a few key role players that they could do whatever they want with going forward.

And Utah, while keeping Markkanen, gets a star-in-the-marking in Reaves plus draft capital.

It is very rare for a three-team trade in the NBA to somehow meet everyone’s goals and objectives, but this one definitely would.
