The Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Angels meet Wednesday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a LA Angels vs Texas Rangers Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Texas Rangers will send out Michael Lorenzen for the start here and is 5-4 with a 3.21 ERA and 62 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lorenzen is 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA and 18 strikeouts against the Angels. Griffin Canning will start for the Angels here and is 3-9 with a 4.87 ERA and 67 strikeouts this season. Texas Rangers Recap
The Texas Rangers come into this one looking to build on their 5-4 over the Angels on Tuesday. The win gave the Rangers a series win to keep their series win streak alive after taking down the Rays this past weekend with a sweep, and a chance at back-to-back sweeps with a win on Wednesday.
Rangers Looking To Get Back In AL West Hunt
Entering Tuesday, Marcus Semien leads the Rangers with 83 hits along with 16 doubles, 12 home runs and 47 RBIs while Adolis Garcia has 16 home runs and 44 RBIs with 15 doubles as well as 7 stolen bases. Jonah Heim has 8 homers and 36 RBIs and Josh Smith also has a team-high 19 doubles. Corey Seager also has 16 home runs with 43 RBIs of his own this season.
Why the Texas Rangers will win
- The Rangers have won each of their last seven games against American League opponents following a win.
- The Angels have lost each of their last six games against American League opponents.
- The Angels have failed to cover the run line in five of their last six games against American League opponents that held a losing record.
- The Rangers have covered the run line in five of their last six night games against American League opponents.
Los Angeles Angels Recap
The Los Angeles Angels come into this one looking to bounce back after ending up with the loss in the first two Games of the series. The loss made it so that the Angels dropped a third straight series after their losses to the Cubs and A’s over the last week.
Angels Trying To Salvage Result
Going into Tuesday, Taylor Ward has 76 hits along with 16 doubles, 14 home runs and a team-high 44 RBIs. Mike Trout also has 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases, but remains out indefinitely with injury while Zach Neto has 19 doubles, 75 strikeouts and 14 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 79 hits and 22 stolen bases while Jo Adell has 14 home runs, 37 RBIs and 10 stolen bases as well.
Why the Los Angeles Angels will win
- The Rangers have lost six of their last nine games as road favorites.
- The Angels have won four of their last six games as home underdogs against American League opponents.
- The Angels have covered the run line in each of their last four night games against the Rangers following a home loss.
- The Rangers have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven games as favorites against AL West opponents.
LA Angels vs Texas Rangers Prediction
I’m taking the Rangers in this one. Tuesday’s Game was a bit too close for comfort, but it was still another win and the Rangers just keep on finding ways to get the job done in this series. The Angels are falling apart at the seams, and are quickly playing themselves further out of the playoff race as each day gets crossed off on the calendar. Griffin Canning’s been terrible for the last couple of months and likely isn’t going to get better here. Give me the Rangers for the sweep.
