The Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels meet Friday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a LA Angels vs Seattle Mariners Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Seattle Mariners will start Bryan Woo here and Woo is 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA and 28 strikeouts this season. In his career, Woo is 1-0 with a 1.61 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. Tyler Anderson will get the start for the Angels here and is 8-8 with a 2.81 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Mariners, Anderson is 8-8 with a 2.81 ERA and 77 strikeouts.
Seattle Mariners Recap
The Seattle Mariners come into this Game looking to build some momentum after taking down the Angels in Thursday’s opener by a final score of 11-0. The win gave the Mariners a chance to build on their sweep of the Padres from their two-Game set earlier this week.
Mariners Trying To Cling Onto AL West Lead
Going into Thursday’s opener, Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 91 hits including a .253 batting average and also has 8 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 17 home runs along with 55 RBIs and 111 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 8 home runs and 34 RBIs while Rodriguez has a team-high 18 stolen bases and 105 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore has a team-high 14 doubles and Mitch Garver has 12 doubles also this season.
Why the Seattle Mariners will win
- The Mariners have won each of their last eight games against the Angels following a win.
- The Angels have lost each of their last eight games against the Mariners following a loss.
- The Mariners have covered the run line in each of their last four road games.
- The Angels have failed to cover the run line in four of their last five games against teams that held a winning record.
Los Angeles Angels Recap
The Los Angeles Angels are still trying to find their footing going into the all-star break after a frustrating showing in Thursday’s opener, putting them in danger of yet another series loss after losses to the Rangers, Cubs and A’s all in the last two weeks.
Angels Hoping To Save Face Going Into All-Star Break
Entering Thursday, Taylor Ward has 79 hits along with 16 doubles, 14 home runs and a team-high 44 RBIs. Mike Trout also has 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases, but remains out indefinitely with injury while Zach Neto has 20 doubles, 77 strikeouts and 14 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 79 hits and 22 stolen bases while Jo Adell has 14 home runs, 38 RBIs and 10 stolen bases as well.
Why the Los Angeles Angels will win
- The Mariners have lost each of their last nine Friday road games.
- The home team has won five of the last six games between the Mariners and Angels.
- The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in each of their last eight Friday night games.
- The Angels have covered the run line in six of their last seven home games against AL West opponents following a home loss.
LA Angels vs Seattle Mariners Prediction
I’m on the Mariners here. The Mariners beat up on the Angels and it just feels like another brick in the wall for the Halos who almost look done already this season. Tyler Anderson threw a gem last time out, but a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while and Anderson wasn’t going to struggle in every outing, but this ERA for him is still unsustainable in my opinion. The Mariners are the better team with something to play for right now, and I think that they get another win. Woo has been solid despite a couple of injury stints already, and I think this is a great spot for him to return to the Mariners’ fold. Give me the Mariners.
